Search growth surges, again...
- under Articles
You can say what you want about online search, but there's no disputing it's a rocket of growth. According to MediaPost's recap of comScore's report, search increased 30% last July from July 2005. Who's winning the engine races? Google took in over 43% of the pie, with a 7 point gain from last year. Yahoo trailed in 2nd place with about 28% of the search pie - down slightly from last year. Lastly, MSN lost a few points bringing their market share down to a whopping 12.834322% (they need all they can get).
Are these numbers real? We're not sure. We think Google's actual percentage is a lot higher, and Yahoo's accordingly lower. MSN is probably about right. But no matter how you slice the search pie, it's getting bigger and bigger each year, and that's good news for our clients and partners.
