In March, Hitwise released a report on the differences between plural and singular keyword forms. This prompted webmasters to focus their efforts on plural keywords because the plural form proved to drive more traffic. However, using Google Trends singular form keywords proved to still hold their value. Singular form keywords tend to be more popularly searched when standing alone.

Why Wikipedia’s Google Rankings are a Joke!
Wikipedia skews Google search results by continually ranking in the top 10 results for keywords not targeted towards Wikipedia. For example, the keyword "holiday" ranks Wikipedia 5th in Google search results. However, most people know the definition of holiday and are not searching for one either. In order to combat Wikipedia’s SERP domination, Google would have to tweak their algorithm to pay less attention to the strength of Wikipedia.org as a whole domain, calculating rankings based upon the inbound links to a specific page instead.
