# XML Sitemap Monitoring

> Conductor Monitoring checks your XML sitemaps and sitemap indices hourly so issues are caught in near real-time.

All your XML Sitemaps and XML Sitemap Indices are checked as frequently as every hour. To see when your XML Sitemaps were last checked, visit the **Platform** screen and click the **View XML Sitemap** button:

### How Conductor Monitoring finds XML Sitemaps

Conductor Monitoring finds XML Sitemaps from these sources:

* Default location (*/sitemap.xml* and */sitemap\_index.xml*)
* Robots.txt Sitemap-reference
* [Google Search Console](/docs/monitoring/google-search-console-in-conductor-monitoring/) (if connected)

If you want to audit and monitor your XML Sitemaps make sure Conductor Monitoring can find them through at least one of these sources.
