Conductor is the only end-to-end, enterprise AEO platform built on the industry’s most complete data engine. Its content marketing team produces educational and research-driven content to help marketers understand search, AI search, and digital visibility.
The content team’s overarching goal is to create authoritative content that answers real audience questions and builds topical authority across traditional and AI-driven search experiences.
The challenge
As AI-powered search experiences like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity reshaped how people discovered information, Conductor’s content team needed to evolve its content strategy to stay visible across both traditional search and AI answers.
To achieve this, the team needed to:
- Identify new content gaps and opportunities across AI search
- Ensure content answered real user questions clearly enough for AI systems to cite
- Maintain consistent optimization across all content
- Scale production without sacrificing quality or research depth
Creating high-quality content required extensive research, competitor analysis, and optimization; processes that quickly became time-consuming without the right technology.
At the same time, the team needed visibility into how their content was being accessed by AI crawlers and users, and a way to quickly identify technical issues or missed opportunities that could impact performance in AI search.
How Conductor helped
Conductor’s content team used our own enterprise AEO platform to streamline the entire content lifecycle, from identifying new topic opportunities to creating optimized content at scale and monitoring performance across AI search.
By unifying content creation with AI search insights, the team continuously refined our strategy and scaled authoritative content production, resulting in:
- Faster research and content creation with Writing Assistant: Writing Assistant helped the team move quickly from intelligent topic research to full outline and draft generation. Built-in keyword/topic insights, competitor research, and audience guidance make it easier to structure content and publish drafts optimized for mentions and citations from day one.
- Consistent optimization with content score and topic guidance: The team used Writing Assistant’s Content Score and keyword/topic recommendations to ensure every article was comprehensive and well-structured before publishing. Writers are required to achieve a content score of at least 90 to publish, a benchmark that signaled the article covered the topic thoroughly, answered key audience questions, and included the context needed for both search engines and AI systems to understand and rank or cite the content.
- AI search performance visibility & tracking at scale: After publishing content, the team used AI Search Performance to track citations, mentions, and visibility across AI-generated answers. These insights help identify content gaps, guide optimizations, and uncover opportunities to strengthen Conductor’s authority in AI search.
- Real-time monitoring of AI crawler activity and site health: The team used Conductor Monitoring to track which pages were receiving traffic from AI crawlers and users, helping identify where content was gaining visibility in AI search and where it was being overlooked. Real-time alerts also kept the team informed of technical issues or on-site changes, ensuring a strong, reliable foundation for AI search performance.

The results
+448% increase in AI citations
As the team expanded coverage of foundational and advanced AEO topics, Conductor’s content began appearing far more frequently in AI-generated answers. Over several months, the brand saw a staggering 448% increase in AI citations, signaling that AI systems were increasingly referencing Conductor as a trusted source for SEO and AI search insights.
This growth reflected the team’s focus on publishing comprehensive, well-structured content designed to answer specific questions clearly. By consistently optimizing articles and expanding topical coverage, Conductor strengthened authority on key topics that AI systems rely on when generating responses.
AI Search Performance is the backbone of our AEO strategy. Our content plan is highly intentional about topical coverage, content structure, and authority building, and AISP shows us when the work translates into real visibility gains in AI-generated answers.
When we see citations up 448% and mentions up 185% YoY, it’s clear that our approach is paying off.
+185% increase in AI mentions for AEO-related intent
Conductor also saw a 185% increase in AI mentions for AEO-related queries, expanding the brand’s presence across AI search experiences.
By identifying new topic opportunities and monitoring how the brand appeared in AI answers, the content team was able to refine and expand content around emerging AI search questions. This approach helped Conductor appear more frequently in AI-generated responses discussing SEO, AEO, and AI search strategy.
To support this process, the team uses Conductor’s Writing Assistant to guide content creation and ensure each piece is fully optimized before publishing.
Getting a content score of 90 in Writing Assistant is a good signal that the article is in a really strong place. It means we’ve covered the topic thoroughly and answered the key questions audiences are searching for—and that’s when we start seeing it show up in AI answers.
+4x increase in content output YoY from 2024 to 2025
Alongside improved visibility, the team dramatically increased the pace of content production. With a more streamlined workflow for research, outlining, draft generation, and optimization, Conductor quadrupled content output YoY from 2024 to 2025.
What Conductor Creator really changed for us was the early stages of the content process. Research, outlining, making sure we’re covering the right topics and filling critical content gaps—that used to be extremely time-consuming.
Writing Assistant streamlined so much of that, which meant we could focus more on the creative and strategic parts of writing and do it at scale.
This allowed the team to publish more educational resources covering key industry topics, build deeper topical authority, and respond quickly to new developments in AI search—all of which was impossible before adopting Conductor’s suite of products.
Built and protected AI search performance with real-time monitoring
Conductor Monitoring provided the team with real-time visibility into AI crawler activity and site health, enabling them to identify which pages were gaining traction in AI search and where optimizations were needed. By tracking AI bot traffic alongside user traffic from LLMs, the team could quickly spot visibility gaps and prioritize updates to improve citations and mentions.
This visibility also made it easier to validate when optimizations were working, as increases in AI crawler activity often followed soon after content updates. At the same time, real-time alerts helped the team stay ahead of technical issues, like broken pages, metadata updates, or unexpected on-page changes, ensuring a strong and reliable foundation for continued growth in AI search.
